The visit to this place should be tied up with the visit to Dazaifu shrine and another shrine that is right after the exit from the subway. The design of the building is futuristic and the exhibits includes those from South east Asia, like Indonesia....More

It's quite a building housing Japanese artifacts. I'm not really patient going through museums so I don't have much to comment on, however the architectural design is quite impressive. It's not very crowded so it was very peaceful to go through. Quite a change from...More

The museum is hidden behind the hills. We had gone through a long tunnel and esculators before we reached there. Once we exited the tunnel, the museum with a beautiful facet was in front of us. There was also a coffee shop in the entrance...More

State of the art, eco friendly regional museum. Did I mention English tour guides - no charge? The tour guide was happy to have us because they said that they do not always get to practice their English. Excellent collection. When we were there they...More

Nice design of this Kyushu National Museum with the glass walls reflecting the green hills nearby. What a pity it was closed when we were there.

The Kyushu National museum is quite nice to visit but a bit small. If you have already visited the Fukuoka City museum, no need to go to the Kyushu National as a lot of the same exhibits are covered.

As advertised, was this is the first new "National Museum " in one hundred years. The building is massive with no expense spared. The galleries are all spacious with high ceilings and excellent display settings. But ... the contents are primarily what has been unearthed...More

When visiting the shrine, take your time to visit the museum. The building is set hidden in a mountain (you access it via a huge escalator). Japan history & modern architecture. Displayed the history of japan.
