It was supposed to be a children's pool, but the harbor seals took over and it's a main tourist and local attraction. Great picture spot.

So many seals!! Fun to watch them blubber around in the water and the shore! The lookout area gives many great photo opportunities. There are concrete walking paths all way down to the cove as well as a sea wall surrounding the cove.

I took my kids here and they loved it. There is lots of seals to look at and they put on quite the show for people. The smell was not terrible but some odor from them being there. Tons of people swimming in the water...More

.... that is about it. The seals have taken over the beach so you have to watch them from afar. LOL. Still, go early in the morning for a beautiful photo opportunity. The lighting was gorgeous.

I always make a point to visit La Jolla and stop to visit the sea lions at the Children's Pool. The sea lions know they are on display and love every minute of it. This time I spent about a half hour just enjoy the...More

A Beach designed for children but taken over by seals. Parking in the area is tough but the walk along the shore is lovely and the seals are adorable. You can’t actually go down on the beach as the seals have taken it over. But...More

Sea Lions are everywhere and the only dangerous thing is the walk way getting near the animals. Looks like the sea water has eroded the concrete a little bit.

This beach offers a shelter for tired seals and marine lions who lazily sunbathe. We got there after a pleasant stroll from La Jolla Cove.

Awesome opportunity to view Sea Lions on the rocks. I wish that the area was policed by DEC as some people were encroaching/taunting some of the sea lions.

We stopped here because of a friend's recommendation. Parking took quite a while to find but it is a lovely walk with great scenery of the ocean hitting the cliffs or the beach. We almost missed the seals but once we found them they were...More

Once again while walking above the ocean in La Jolla we went to children’s Pool only to find that interlopers have now designated this as seal capital USA. We have always co existed with the seals in La Jolla but these folks have taken it...More

Yes, there are sea lions and seals on this coast year round. You'll find seals at the Children's pool and the sea lions typically hand a little north of this at the Cove. You can usually find the sea lions by the smell (it... More
