The Cave Store offers a variety of merchandise including handmade jewelry, towels, snorkel gear, postcards, magnets, shells, and bottled drinks and ice cream. The most exciting part of the Cave Store, however, is the 145 step tunnel that leads to the Sunny Jim Sea Cave. Although there are rarely any sea lions or seals in the cave, the view is spectacular and it is a great adventure, particularly for kids.

This is where you go to get to the entrance of the the sunny jim cave. The stairs can be kind of nerve racking, steep, wet and unsteady so wear sneakers. Also be prepared to sweat.

I usually travel with a tight budget, but this gift store was gorgeous and I had no choice but to score a hand made Napali fanny pack! No joke haha. It was very decently priced, as were most things in this store surprisingly. The only...More

The store is actually the place where you can purchase tickets to get to the cave. Lots of cool stuff in the store, but the coolest is, of course, the view from the bottom of the cave. Entrance is only $5. You have to be...More

This is such a hidden gem! You can pay to descend down into one of the cave enterances from inside the store. It's a quick experience for the money, so it's a little on the touristy side, but it was still worth it in my...More

Cute little store to buy post cards and gifts. This store serves as the entrance to the cave. We did not go down into the cave. The employees were very nice and they even have a little basket with free painted shells for the kids....More

We found the Cave Store upon recommendation from a friend. We would not have know to go here if not for the recommendation. The name is misleading. The "store" is just the entrance to the stairs that take you down to a cave where you...More

The cave store is worth a visit when at La Jolla. It’s worth the $5 to see the cave under the store! Beautiful view and interesting story or you can kayak and see the cave as well!

I absolutely loved it! Yes, it is a little touristy, but it's quite fun in its own kitschy way. It's only $5 ($3 for kids). You descend the stairs that let out onto a wooden platform near the mouth of the cave. Gives a great...More
