I am not entirely sure I am writing this review in the correct spot. We read about a store which had a path to the La Jolla cave. We paid....and for what it was...it was way over priced. 145 steps down...small landing area, nice view....145 steps up, done in 15 minutes. If you're looking to kill 2o minutes...give it a... More

Bring a book or something to read so you can stay longer and enjoy the view, the breeze and some wildlife watching. Not much shade from trees but they do have at least 2-3 small "shelters" where you can sit and not be directly under the sun. Beach area at each end where you can sunbathe.

The beautiful caves at La Jolla Cove can be accessed, but you will need to do it by Kayak or a SUP about a mile down the beach and then head towards the cave and in. You can get out and swim, but you will need the right gear and to be a strong swimmer with the current.

If you don't mind climbing down and up 142 stairs this is a place you should put on your "must do" list while visiting San Diego. The views are absolutely amazing! The location is convenient as well, located a few yards down from La Jolla Cove.

See California Sea Lions up close, explore tide pools, enjoy a shallow beach with the kids, this is a great place to explore.

You can get here two ways, by kayak or SUP (private or rental) from LA Jolla Shores about 1 mile away. You cannot launch from the cove. The other way is to swim in to them but wear a wetsuit and fins at a minimum!! Even in summer wear wetsuit and gloves! Follow the trail to goldfish point. This is... More

Nice way to spend the day, we were surprised that parking is free! (if you can get it). Get there early, La Jolla Cave is $5 per person to walk down stairs to ocean level within a cave. The only one accessible by foot so it's your only option if you don't want to see it by way of the... More

Living in Kentucky, we do not get to see many sea lions in the wild. It was just fun to listen to them.

This is definitely a fun place to see in person. Along with the interesting caves, this area has an abundance of marine life. The sea lions are always fun to stop and watch. Doing a kayak or snorkel tour of the caves is a great way to see them up close.

I came here with my boyfriend when he was visiting SD and it was a fun place to go to. The cave is a trip and is a great place to visit. Beware: it does cost money to go down into the cave, I believe it's like 10 a person and it is down a long, dark, under ground tunnel.... More
