What a great stop we had at Tourmaline Surfing Park. The surfers were friendly and happy to talk to you and answer questions. Bonus for the afternoon was some great whale watching. We were thankful to have had our binoculars.

This is a very mellow (considering how crowded it can get!) place to surf, especially for long boards. There are many people learning to surf, so you have to be aware of that, but usually they are closer to shore. It's also a great beach to just hang out on if you aren't there for surfing. It's at the north... More

What a great spot to go and watch the surfers. Went here with family, not to surf, but to relax and watch the surfers. Everyone is very friendly and we saw some great surfing.

Restroom here, parking. Stop to see so many local surfers. To the left of the parking area there were sunbathers.

I adore this place. Love watching the sun set over the Pacific. Well known surf spot at the end of Tourmaline, heart of Pacific Beach. Many Baby Boomers and over 40s use to wax their boards after work before hitting the surf. Parking lot, but there's a lot of traffic action.

We rented a board from Bird Rock Surf shop at a great price then got some food and drinks to spend the day. A very friendly beac that you should visit while in La Jolla.

We were drawn to the beach from above the cliffs, watching the surfers. As a few of them climbed over the cliff top from the beach carrying their boards, it seemed like a great place to climb down to the beach. Wrong! Just a word of caution. These daredevils climb cliffs on perilous trails more dangerous than the surf itself.
