At Las Positas Vineyards we believe that the Livermore Valley terroir produces extraordinary wines that are true to the varietal grape with depth and complexity. This belief is embedded in the history of the valley where wine grapes have been growing since the early 1840s and producing some of the world’s most prestigious wines since the 1880s. Our winery is now part of the newest chapter in the rich history of the Livermore Valley.

We attended Las Positas Vinyard as guest of a wedding. The facility is very beautiful. The Tuscan style ballroom with it's large windows is elegant and perfect for a banquet of about 100 people. It will seat more but may seem crowded. The views are lovely. The out buildings such as the barrel room are spotless. The bridal suite is... More

A very nice, small winery, and very cozy. They give chocolate samplers!! This is ultimate, being I am a chocoholic. Try it, guaranteed you will like it.

Las Positas Winery sits on the corner of Wetmore & Arroyo in Livermore. The grounds are very attractive, with grapevines right off the parking lot. As the winery sits on a slight rise, it has a gorgeous view of the surrounding vineyards and Sycamore Grove Park. The tasting room is very nice, but could use a bit more seating. We... More

Went here with my wife, brother ad sister-in law. Came in and it was pretty busy. There was no place at the wine bar to stand. The bartender kindly asked people to move down to make room for us, which was really nice. Most places don't really care and it's a free for all. About their wines. Their tasting was... More

On a pleasant Saturday I made Las Positas my last stop. It's only open weekends. The tasting area has a couple of tables. The owners were there to speak with you. Pleasant people, into their product. The tasting area is in a residential garage, outside of which a woman was very intent on getting the tasting fee before you had... More

Since Winemaker Charlie Kidd took over winemaking duties at this beautifully set winery location in the hills of Livermore, everything is coming up golden. His first wines from the 2011 vintage, including a smashing rose, gorgeous Pinot Grigio and perfumey-rich Pinot Blanc, are sensational. He whipped both the 2009 Tempranillo and 2009 Casa de Viñas Covarrubias Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon into... More
