I arrived at opening and had a very nice first hour and a half, as it was almost like having the place to myself. Once more people started arriving, however, the place became packed to the gills with screaming children and parents who seemingly had...More

Since Long Beach is facing pacific, here is where to come. The cold pacific flows from the allue to offshore Canada, down to California. You can have divergence of cold underwater. Group of few families with kids can be a wonderful trip memory.

So we absolutely loved the staff and I was impressed by the beauty. The diversity of sea creatures was appreciated. The outdoor aquarium and water cycle display were just ok. I mean the viewing window are calcified so we could barely see the shares except...More

I love the teaching stations at The Aquarium of the Pacific. I have come here many times with my special education students over the years. Now, as a retired teacher, I am enjoying the aquarium all over again with my two year old grand daughter....More

Nice size, well maintained and nicely layed out aquarium. Super job on the exhibits, many of which are interactive, which the kids love. I was there in a Friday morning, and there had to be at least a thousand children in the facility. I was...More

This is right on the coast in Long Beach. It is a small aquarium but has lots of hands on stuff for kids. They have more jellyfish species than I have ever seen - so that is way cool. Also they have a number of...More

While this aquarium has many of the beautiful fish that you expect to see, the most fascinating and outstanding exhibits were those of graceful, colorful jellyfish. The exhibits were truly mesmerizing. Another exhibit of special interest was the outdoor stingray pool that contained one of...More

Hi! We are considering doing a whale watching tour at the aquarium in a couple weeks. Will I be able to safely bring my 2 year old, or is there an age restriction on the tours? What can we expect?

The whale watching tour would be fine for a 2 year old - the downstairs indoor seating area is enclosed (no chance of falling overboard!) and has huge windows so you can still see really well.

Hi! We haven't bought tickets yet but as part of our vacation, we were thinking of going on Monday morning 5/15. Do you think it will be overly packed at that time? Is that known to be a field trip day? Also, how much time do you think we should plan to spend there? We have a 18 month old and my sister who is a teenager will be with us. Is this a few hour thing or an all day thing? Has anyone used ticketsatwork website to purchase tickets? Any tips are welcome. Thanks!

How much time does it take to explore the aquarium? I am planning to attend the shark petting at night from 6-9 PM but wanted to know what time I should arrive to explore everything before that event.
