Descend into the once forbidden confines of this genuine, "Cold War Warrior." Explore the torpedo rooms, the cramped crew quarters and the wide array of various valves, pipes and wires that made up this combat sub. Completely authentic, accurate and unchanged since the Cold War days, the Scorpion submarine gives guests the rare opportunity to get a first-hand glimpse of what life was like aboard a Russian submarine.

I just stayed on the Queen Mary and the sub, which is docked flanking the ship, is looking pretty rusty and neglected. Also, all of the signage for the sub has been removed and the admission booth/shop very much closed up. Not sure if there are refurbishment plans in place, or if this is the end of the sub. Too... We drove there since I knew we could go inside and it was a very nice experience and I wanted to share it with my husband at this time. Finding out the submarine its close now, 😔 you can still park by the Queen Mary and walk there to see the submarine but just from outside you can't go in... More

You'll notice from the outside how poorly maintained and in disrepair this submarine is today. And there's probably good reason to stop the tours, but it's still cool to see from the outside. To the museum's credit, even the Soviets had a rough time maintaining these Foxtrot subs. But it's clearly underfunded and neglected...quite a shame.

An amazing tour of how submariners lived together in such a confined space. If your tall you will want to duck.

It's closed. The submarine looks really pitiful from the outside. I would be scared to go inside with the state of the outside. Not at all attractive. But the Queen Mary right next door is worth the trip.

Was recommended by a friend of mine to this place. In my opinion, they need to improve the place by increasing more points of attractions. Maybe also a small vendor inside the submarine that's offers drinks and tea would be good

The sub is still listed as an attraction, and the gift shop is open, but the plywood boarded over the entrance to the access is a giveaway that the Scorpion is going the way of the Cold War. I had hoped it might have had some maintenance and reopened, but it doesn't look like it will happen. So it sits... More

Touring the Russian submarine, Scorpion, is one of those unique experiences that don't come around very often, so do it. Looks to need some repairs but I'd imagine that's in order to keep it a money earning attraction. Since its next door to the Queen Mary, it's easy to do. Some small spaces, tight squeezes and not for those with... More

This sub is all original and still runs but they stay in port and don't leave the dock. Tight squeeze between compartments. Great displays show you the items used by the Russian sailors back in the day. Gift shop is nice too.
