For those of you interested in metal and guitars, the Guitar Centre is a must see. It is fun to peruse the memorabilia and walk of fame and to compare your hand prints with some of the greats. The staff are pleasant and easy going.

Staff is semi helpful but the shop is very cool...worth a visit if you play or enjoy guitar! We were fortunate enough to get a short free lesson, some advice and a few items like a capo, etc.

Great selection of musical instruments and you will be sure to hear Stairway to Heaven played at least once while you are visiting.

Great place for Musicians. This is the biggest store I've seen so far. Everything and anything music can be found here.

Lots of gear, as you would expect. It's a pretty large facility, and they probably stock most of what you'd expect. But, the staff just doesn't seem to care much about you or your 'shopping experience.' That can be both good and bad. Good, if you just want to try out a bunch of different guitars without being pressured to... More

If you're a musician or love music, this is a quick and free stop you should check out. Before entering the store, there are a bunch of hand prints in the ground tiles from various bands over the years. The store itself has some memorabilia and, of course, instruments, speakers, etc. The staff is very friendly and the vintage room... More

This Guitar Center is more that a store. It houses music history. Some of the biggest music stars have left their hand prints on the walkway in front of the store. There are always instruments on display played by legends (BB King, Paul McCartney, Metallica, Nirvana, etc.). Beautiful new and vintage instruments inside but you don't have to go inside... More

The Guitar Center is a must for anyone who truly appreciates music and guitars. What initially drew me here was The Ramones hand prints, but I throughly enjoyed everything here. It's not too far from Hollywood Blvd. we walked here and it only took 15-20 minutes.

If you like rock music - and guitars in particular - this is the place for you. I loved seeing the handprints of many famous bands/musicians outside, and that included RUSH! Inside, this place has a lot of history, many things to see without actually having to shop though of course the selection is immense. The surrounding block is all... More

The Hollywood Guitar Center is much larger than our home town guitar center and loaded with some really cool rock-n-roll memorabilia, so even if you just a fan, you really should stop and check out the stuff they have from one of the first Les Paul's to a Kirk Hammett guitar covered with dimes. Aside from all the memorabilia, they... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
