Used to be a nice beach/shopping experience. But since the City of Santa Monica decided to feed the homeless, the beach and the Promenade are a smelly dive. You feel like you need a tetanus shot after walking on the beach amongst all the medical...More

A nice beach. Venice beach is a nice area to walk around as well as a good beach. Parking is available at nearby pay lots or perhaps at no charge if you can find it on nearby streets.

Travelling from Australia we wanted to experience Santa Monica peer and Santa Monica beach. It was extremely over crowded and dirty, with only a small section of the beach actually accessible. With little children the crowds were quite intimidating. A been there done that experience.
