Santa Barbara was one of the stops on our pacific highway road trip and it was definitely worth it. What a beautiful place, I instantly fell in love with it. It has a specific architectural charm, beautiful sunset on the beach and it takes you into a different world, especially coming from a city like LA. Wish we stayed there... More

1, Solvang is a small town, pretty, quiet, clean, European style, and top on the mountain 2, U won't spent much time to stay because not too much to see 3, Driving from Santa Barbara to Solvang will be a nice experience 4, Nice place for taking break on ocean side

We especially visited Solvang as I had been there in 1980. Just lovely. Danish everywhere. It was Danish Days Festival. There were folk dancing and playing traditional songs. The Architecture is attractive. A definite must visit.

60 years ago, Solvang was a cute little town, but those decades of tourism have resulted in a campy imitation of an attractive Scandinavian town. From the newer subdivisions of fake Tudor homes to the weekend crowds waiting for a table at cafes to the unappealing "Danish" bakeries, this town was a total disappointment. We went for a quick walk... More

Hi, Just to clarify this village is a DANISH, village not dutch. There is a big difference. Its wonderful and amazing culture about the danish people. Spectacular food, and language. Highly recommended !

Took a day tour several years ago from Pasadena CA. It was a beautiful Dutch township & there was a quaint Post Office there where you could have your post card stamped . Good for a Dutch experience seeing the Windmill & reminding me of a Dutch boy that saved the town by blocking a hole by putting his hand... More

Solvang is just like a small Danish town, full of restaurants and pastrie shops. It was nicely decorated for Christmas. We visited the wine country and enjoyed wine tasting. On the other hand Santa Barbara, with its beautiful coastline, the Mission, etc, is a great place to visit.

Took a day trip to Solvang traveling from Santa Barbara. Beautiful and short drive from Santa Barbara. A wonderful tourist town with good restaruants and shopping. Very much enjoyed the wine bars.
