Good place for an afternoon hike. Easy walk/run through these bizarre dwarfish oak trees. Sandy dusty trail opens to some low dunes. Problems arise with the trail markers; few and far between and at times it's a guess as to the direction and it's very...More

I have been to Los Osos Oaks state reserve few times now and at different times of the year. I absolutely love it there. There are no man-made materials inside the park, only nature at its best.

I've been to this reserve many times and still get a bit turned around regards trails. Old coastal oaks with moss, mystical place. Good for families, beware of poison oak.

This is a great place near Morro bay, on the way to Montana de Oro state Park. A small park favored by local joggers and families

This is a dense forest of pygmy oak tress. They are fascinating, but when you have seen one, you have seen them all, and the trails are full of burrs, nuts, cinders, broken branches, and other hazards. Other than the interesting concept of pygmy size...More

This was a very nice, short walk. We ended up wandering from the main trail fascinated by the twisted oak trees cover with moss and lichen. It reminded me of the trees in Louisiana covered with Spanish moss.
