Lots of items on the mining history in the local area, they have a lot to see in a small place and we almost missed it when we driving thru town.

Quaint, small, fairly informative. I grew up camping in gold county, so this little museum had some charm and some new information for me. The staff consists of docents and volunteers, some are grumpy and a bit cold.

This museum really gives you an idea of what life was like in Mariposa and California in general during and after the gold rush. I could probably stay in there for a week looking at all the different artifacts. Great collection.
