The beach up the river is great for young kids as no waves come up that way. The wind is mostly blocked and the sand is real clean and nice.

Spend some time here on the Big River of Mendocino coast. It is a beautiful part of this county, and the water is clean, and the surroundings are inviting to explore!

This is a great river to kayak. Easy launching the boat and lots of parking. Wide river and a leisurely pace. A bit of a head wind at times when heading back towards the ocean, but we'll worth the visit.

This is a great place to stop and take a break from the road. The beach here is an inlet so you don't have the waves crashing around you. Enjoy it.

Not many places where you can stroll a rugged Pacific Ocean sandy beach and continue inland for an 8 mile hike along a pristine estuary among the Redwoods. Catch the river otters, harbor seals, California sea lions and blue herons, Easy chip sealed walking path...More
