Fun to walk around and see the waves rushing through tunnels and through a sinkhole, as well as the remains of the chutes they used to get logs (and people too, it seems) down to ships waiting in the rushing surf.

We took a nice walk along the headlands while in Mendo. It can be a long and pleasant walk or a short one or a rigorius one depending on what you want. We have been there in the spring, when the wild flowers are blooming...More

Walk as far as you want along various easy paths. Great at sunset. Views change all the time as you walk along. Never more than a few minutes walk to town. Not exciting but a pleasant stroll.

The bluffs are quite scenic. Being a cane user, however, I found the trails very narrow and in some areas, uneven and difficult. Benches are not frequently encountered. The cool, fresh and clean air is great. Comparing this to the Fort Bragg coastal trail, I...More

The wind is strong and fresh as you stroll along the path. What a great place to spend the afternoon. I visited several times during my week in Mendocino, and my Samoyed loved it too. I took some spectacular drone videos as well.

Says it all. Come for an hour, stay for a few more. If the seagulls don't capture your lunch, and the wind doesn't ruin your coiff and the sun doesn't fry your face, well... that's all part of the magical experience of the Headlands. When...More

Spent the whole day meandering around the Headlands. Well worth wandering around. The sea looks amazing altho there was a lot of fog out to sea that slowly came thru and surrounded us.
