This coast is very rugged with quaint little towns like Mendocino and Fort Bragg. There often are marine layers in summer, so the best time to visit is spring or fall

This entire area is soooo beautiful! Many great drives, great beaches, great walks. The town of Mendocino has some wonderful shops, against the gorgeous background of ocean and the headlands.

There are several walks along the coast. Actually I think the one in Fort Bragg is nicer than the one in Mendocino. Also, the private garden walk in Fort Bragg is worth the admission price.
