Yes...this is a vintage tourist trap, but a trip to Monterey wouldn't be complete without a stroll down this famous wooden wharf. Besides people watching there are lots of restaurants, shops, whale watching and bay tour departures. I believe every restaurant was providing samples of...More

The pier is nice but the homeless people and beggers are to much. As you walk to get to the pier their are so many people asking for money, and people with animals which make the surroundings uncomfortable.

A wonderful place to stroll, people watch, shop and eat. So many choices for wonderful sea food from a quick bite to fine dinning! Just loved it!

We were up early and decided to go for a walk down to the Old Fisherman's Wharf. Saw lots of seals and birds and admired stunning views of Monterey Bay and the open ocean.

It's worth the trip if you are in the area but it's all touristy and mostly restaurants. You have to pay to park close by. Most restaurants have someone in front handing out samples of chowder which is fun.

There are shops, restaurants, and nice boats at the wharf. It was fun walking around, sampling chowder from the seafood restaurants, having a bite to eat and people watch. Worth a stop to poke around if you are in Monterey.

This is a fun place to visit. You have to pay for parking. Food is just OK. We ate at Paluca Trattoria. Pricey. Lot's of bread/filling items.

Lots of souvenir shops and places to eat. Sooo many places to eat! We found one with a view of the harbor, and $15 dinner including dessert. Outstanding food—fish of course!

The shops are not as unique as Fisherman Wharf (SF) and the shops were sum what dirty. The restaurants are all trying to get you to eat there and can be somewhat pushy. My advice it is a place to visit and go to the...More

This is a dense area. In high season (roughly May through October) it's over-run with tourists and can be difficult to navigate on foot. I imagine a wheelchair adds an extra layer of difficulty with that. The boardwalk is... More

They open around 9 or ten, but not really sure our first stop was the aquarium, that morning, breakfast shops open early, but once open lots to see and buy.
