Actually administered by the Department of Fish & Game, and not the State Parks Service, and so it is better maintained than the State parks in the area. Very helpful Rangers have great knowledge of just about everything. My only criticism is that the trails...More

According to Marc at Hydrobiking 305 species of animals make this estuary their home. During our 1.5 mile bike adventure we saw at least 15-20 different species of birds, sea otters, crabs, sea lions, and many types of underwater grasses that got tangled in our...More

We hiked around and got within 20' of a sea otter. Lots of trails, nice scenery. We plan to go back prepared for a kayak tour. Water in Monterey Bay is chilly so we will bring our wetsuits.

We love making a point to kayak up the slough when we visit Moss Landing. We are always greeted by gorgeous seals and their pups, even have them splash and play under our kayaks. We sit and watch the pelicans as they land, dive and...More

Most excellent spot to see sea otters in their natural habitat! And also you can walk right over the dunes and see the ocean and watch whales from the beach! It's free!!

Right next to the pottery place is the Kayak connection where you can rent a kayak. It has been many years since I rented a kayak but I did not get wet. If you are to wear a wetsuit, you are more than likely to overheat. As... More

The best spot is just off the highway by Moss Landing. The Slough is more suited for walking on a boardwalk and looking for small marsh birds. There will be sea otters, seals and numerous shorebirds around Moss Landing.
