Make the drive up the mountain. Pristine pines and breathtaking in it's beauty. We did some snowshoeing and connected to the wonder of this mountain. Magnificent!

Redding, which is 75miles from Mount Shasta, is the closest city with decent hotels and inns. From there, visit Lassen Volcanic National Park, which I find more interesting and more scenic.
