Beautiful and Tasty

Lovely small tasting room and grounds. Little patio area shaded with an arbor. Allows dogs inside tasting room. Excellent wines, especially the Chardonnay and Barbera.

Was on our way to Murphy and saw this great little vineyard along the way. The grounds were so pretty and the tasting room look brand new and really cool. The staff was very friendly and quite helpful. They had a two whites which were extremely tasty. There were about 9 reds they were all really good. The port was... More

My husband, 22yo daughter and I were driving from Napa to Yosemite and were on the lookout from wineries on the way. I read good reviews about Chatom so we decided to stop. We enjoyed it. It's a small operation in a beautiful, peaceful area. I think it's called Esmerelda Valley--gorgeous. The tasting room is small and the attendant very... More

Nice wines but the grounds are beautiful! Helping a friend move from the bay area up to Camp Connell and after dropping the rental truck off we decided to go wine tasting, go figure, after 3+ hours on the road and the unloading the truck and waiting to return the truck I was ready! I had to watch my intake... More

Chatham winery was an unexpected surprise. They had 11 wines for their wine tasting. There were two whites and nine reds. I spoke to another couple about the Reds who said they needed to mature a little, but I thought some of them were quite enjoyable. I would go back again anytime. I ended up liking to tortugua the semillion... More

I was warmly welcomed the moment I arrived. They offer up to 6 complimentary tastings or a nominal fee if you want to try all of their offerings. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable taking my time and enjoying their magnificent wines. I highly recommend stopping here!

Went to several wine tasting rooms while traveling in the "Gold Country." This room offered great wine choices and we purchased several bottles of Zinfandels. Good prices also. I liked walking around to the barrel area. Check this one out on your way to Murphy's...

The first time that we stayed in Murphy's at Black Bear Inn, Bruce and Wendy, the Innkeepers served us wine from Chatom Winery. We enjoyed it so much that on our way home we stopped at Chatom Winery and bought several bottles of the wine we had and chose some other kinds of their wine to try. The second time... More

I'm sure you'll find a great wine here that you'll enjoy. The staff at this winery could not be nicer, or more friendly. We last visited during the Calaveras Wine Passport Weekend and their winery could not have been more welcoming. They had it in a separate area from the main tasting room, and their food selection was oustanding. We've... More
