This is by and large a dog park - lots of dogs (off leash) with owners - no problems with that and there were some other hikers but mostly dog-walkers. Dusty and dry!

My dogs love coming to alston. The main area is off leash and they love running around. I believe the park is around 60 acres and has an on leash area on the back side that is a beautiful walk where you see a creek and lots of wild life. Its also a great spot for jogging. there are benches... More

I've taken my dog here repeatedly, and she loves it. There are several sections: a fenced area for very small dogs and second fenced one for larger to big dogs, which has several benches and a covered picnic table. Then there is the very large off leash area with many trails and a few benches for resting while your dog... More

Napa is "park poor" compared to many places, so you'll find that even a place like this that is remarkably ordinary suffers from overuse. You'll get some nice views over the valley from the low hills, but that's about it. The dog owners love place, and you'll almost always run into off-leash dogs in the sections of the park that... Alston Park is one of those few city parks that allow your imagination to drift to thoughts for all seasons. One end allows for the freedom of people and dogs to be at their best, to walk, run and smell the beauty of mother earth. There is also a fenced dog area with chairs and tables for the two legged... The off leash section of this park is lovely, great for your dog and you for a nice, easy day hike around some beautiful vineyard views.

We used to take our dogs here but was told be a Vet that it's not a good idea. There's not much here except a few trails. The City hasn't done much to improve it

On the west side of Napa, Alston Park is a local gem for dog walkers. There are two fenced areas known as Canine Commons and two unpaved walking loops. The longest loop from the parking lot is around 1.3 miles. Walking the inner and outer loops totals just 2 miles. The northern two thirds of the park are on leash... More

We enjoyed going to Alston Park on the west side of Napa. There are several trails for hikes. There is also a good dog park.
