Nice at the harbor for views and boat departures , and photography. But the sewer gases are so. Bad. You cant breath .people are covering their noses and mouth while walking and complaining about the terrible smell. Which is a health issue for sure . I have writing a report to the news team about this health issue. It's been... More

This is a minor fun zone that dates back to early days in Newport Beach. The Ferris wheel has some bragging rights: Longest ferris wheel ride— ANYWHERE. We didn’t time it. There are a few arcades and other rides, nothing stupendous. It offers thrills for the younger set, and seems to be a trip to the past, probably having contemporary... More

This little boardwalk area is kitchy and fun -- but is very, very small. Don't go expecting that you will spend more than about 20 or so minutes before you've seen it all. Not a destination all by itself - just comes along for the ride with the rest of the island experience.

I enjoyed this as a kid and the best is that I still enjoy it with my grandkids. It's original landmark is a place that everyone has on their to do list. Fun, fun, fun!

don't go there with big expectations for the kids. It's just a modest ferris wheel and a silly swing ride and a modest arcade. The Zone is a nice quick stop-by if you are already in the area and passing through, i.e. using the ferry to/from Balboa island. Food concessions, souvenir shops, bars and restaurants make up the difference.

You will enjoy the Balboa Fun Zone, we sure do. It is FUN to walk it, go in the little shops, get frozen bananas on a stick, cotton candy, and much more at the stands. Games, ferris wheel, next to the Ferry entrance. It really is a must see, especially for the kids/teens .... but for us mature adults too.... More

We mostly spent the time people watching and walking around. A clean, safe, fun place for families, small kiddos and/or older couples. Lots of things to do, and great places to shop and eat!

We read great reviews so we came here to either do a harbor cruise or ferry our car rental over to Balboa Island. When parking, we noticed a really foul odor (sewage?) in the parking lot. Not sure if it was a slow day or the norm as we visited on Columbus Day around 2pm, but the fun zone was... More

I thought that there would be more to do here. There are some shops and restaurants but that is really about it. We only walked around to a few of the stores and grabbed some pizza.
