If you go to Salvation mountain you really should drive the extra mile through slab city and go to East Jesus. We really had never seen anything like either one. I guess slab city is where the hippies go to live off the grid. Stranger...More

This is no art museum. It's out in the middle of nowhere just past Slab City. It's dusty and dirty and absolutely FABULOUS! These artists have taken literal junk, trash and made some incredible, I guess you would call them, sculptures. We went when no...More

This attraction is located pretty much at the end of slab city, which e The way this place is maintained is really commendable, carpets mark the path and old tires the boundary. It seems people visiting it either treat it as a shrine or a...More

Early morning should be ok; the artists may not be up yet, but you can walk through the sculpture garden on your own - 1 hour is probably enough time to see it. Do take plenty of water with you!
