Great resort, uncrowned, good grooming and lots of terrain for all levels. If you are and expert, you will not be disappointed. If advanced, plenty of black and blue groomed runs and lots of off piste skiing. Good friendly laid back atmosphere.

Best ski area for day trips from Sacramento! This place has something for everyone-- from beginning to expert skiers/boarders. The resort is super easy to get to off Highway 80-- about 90-100 minutes away when conditions are good. They have great pass prices and good food. A family can easily ski together-- meeting at the chair lifts-- even if some... More

Went to Sugar Bowl on a weekday and the skiing was great. However, the restaurant, which was advertised to be open until 4:00 PM closed at 3:00 PM. Not only was the grill closed, but all of the prepackaged food and drinks were also unavailable. I understand if use is down to close down the kitchen, but how hard is... More

I love the two different entrances to the resort. As we alway stay near Truckee, we come to the Judah side. Friendly staff. Plenty of intermediate runs. Three lodges including mid-mountain. Easy to go from one side to the other.

I went up to Sugar Bowl for the season opening this week (Dec. 14th) and stayed for a couple of days skiing. The snow was awesome and weather was partially sunny, so perfect conditions for so early in the season. It would have been great if more lifts were open. Food options were very limited, only one small café was... More

There was a big snowfall in December 2014, but there has been very little snow at all during January. Sugar Bowl has a fair amount of snow-making equipment, and that has helped a lot. The trails down from Mt. Lincoln are fun and skiable, with some icy patches on the steeper trails. Mt. Disney, is icier. Most of the ungroomed... More

I have reviewed Sugar Bowl years back and given it an excellent rating, but this past ski day was not a good one. Granted, there is a lack of snow but coming down the ramp off a main chair there was a large enough rock to make a 3 inch gash in the bottom of my husbands ski. That is... More

Sugar Bowl has been a part of my life since I was a young skier. Though it is not the biggest, steepest, or most glamorous resort it is my favorite. It has just the right mix of great terrain with the feeling of a smaller resort. It also gets the most snow in the region. It is the place that... More
