Yes, it's hard to come up with new commentary that previous reviews haven't used. We had a blast. The Wife, The Boy (19), The Girl (22), and me were alternately scared witless and thoroughly entertained. It seems that Dave and his Humvee defy gravity - how is it that we are all not tumbling down the face of this dune?... More

Our trip with a mom and two Tweens was a blast! The driver was great at giving us a fun ride but slowing down if we felt the bumps were too much. Great trip to such a unique part of California. Well worth the time- a must see if you have never been on the dunes!

Like everyone else, our first decision was whether to drive our own dune buggy or ride with a professional driver in a HUMVEE. We chose the latter. We explored nearly the entire 3500 acre sand dune park. Since this was off season and we shared the beach with only 4 or 5 other vehicles, I think I might have driven... More

This was a great time! Went with my sons, ages 21 and 26 and my niece 24, we had such a great time. The kids mentioned that they hadn't had that much fun in years, and they are a tough crowd to please. Our driver was great, you could tell he really loved his job and was extremely competent. An... We'd been thinking about exploring the sand dunes somehow and a guy in a shop in the town just happened to mention the hummer tours as we didn't really fancy the ATVs, we have an 11 year old as well as 2 teenagers. Tracked them down to the Railroad diner in Oceano and got a trip arranged for that afternoon.... More

I wish I could remember our drivers name because he was exceptional, I immediately felt at ease when we met him. He said he was the owners son and had been driving the dunes for 16 years. That being said this was one of the scariest, exciting and fun things I've ever done. Like another reviewer on another site said,... More

So glad we were able to do this on our recent trip to the west coast. It's really hard to describe because it is so much fun that you really have to experience the dunes first hand. The tour begins with an easy ride along the coast, but then once the driver gets onto the dunes the real fun begins.... More

This was a fun hour -- leisurely riding along the beach then hitting the dunes--climbing, then straight down, then sideways. What fun. The hummers are so sturdy and consequently would feel safe for even a novice. We were in town without our Buggy and quads so decided to do an overview of the dunes. I was concerned that my husband... The idea of driving ATV's on the beach sounded dangerous and unappealing...but when I read the reviews about this it looked interesting so I booked it for our family. My husband was nervous, and I was a little nervous about the safety of my 10-year-old. There was no reason for any of us to be worried, it was great!! Our... More
