When I first visited Squaw, it was in 2004 in the midst of a winter storm. The place looked magical after the weather passed, and the personnel were professional, courteous, and sympathetic of the situation due to Mother Nature. Fast forward to 2018, during the...More

I have skied at almost every major ski area in California. Mammoth is my favorite and Heavenly and Alpine Meadows are my second choices with Kirkwood in third. Squaw is an ok mountain with nothing really to write home about. Now that Scott Schmidt and...More

It was nice addition to the whole complex of gondola, restaurant and the bar. The place you can learn some history of Winter Olympic Games from 1960. There are many displayed items related to this event. I was happy to be there with my son....More

Unfortunately there was limited snow and runs. Some areas were more crowded, but lines were still small in comparison to normal conditions. They still were able to have several chairs and lifts open.

I have to compliment all the staff at Squaw Valley Ski area extremely highly. Long story short, it was my first time skiing and I rented my gear from the Ski field and had some issues with my skis. Not only did they give me...More

A wonderful little ski resort with very friendly locals and wonderful village. Only a short distance from San Fran so was excellent for our limited time. The skiing was suitable for our level, but our highlight was a snow mobile tour with Coldstream Adventures to...More

There was less than 25” of snow during our December trip to Tahoe. Skiing was out of the question but we still wanted to see the Olympic high camp. It costs approximately $46 per person to ride the tram but we waited for the sunset...More

Yes, they need more snow, no, they can't make it everywhere, mountain much too vast, but I've been skiing Squaw for 32 years and there is no comparison. It's still a "skiers mountain", but kind enough for beginners to learn and have fun, and in...More

Jodi, Given the snow this year, there will be lots of pow. Squaw gets skied out very quickly on the weekends, but it is a large resort and you can find pockets. Just ask the staff or experienced skiers and they'll help... More

This season rivals the big snow years of various seasons past, like 1982 and 2010. I shot aerials of Squaw in late March in 2010 and the season continued until June. They have had more snow in January of this year (23') than... More
