This is a beautiful beach to spend time at alone or with your friends. Its secluded area that would be great for camping if you want to stay or just time to sit and think. Its a beautiful walk where at times you see elk...More

If you want the comforts of home, stay there. This is an excellent place to camp and experience both the beach and the forest. The elk add another level of interest. The drive in through the redwood forest is worth making even if you do...More

The park and beach is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to but being so secluded after traveling down the six mile rough dirt road, I decided to go to a hotel instead. My concern was in the case of an...More

Camped overnight in a secluded spot with the ocean on one side and a mountain behind us. Elk roamed freely and delightfully close. Bathrooms were clean and so was park. Wonderful place to be surrounded by nature.

If your vehicle can handle a few potholes, this place is a must-visit. Came here in November, and it was completely empty. This VERY isolated sandy beach nestled between ancient redwoods and the mighty pacific will not disappoint.

This isn't the kind of beach that you see in the movies. It's an empty rugged beach where you can really experience nature. The roar of the waves and the sunsets are mesmerizing.

A beautiful beach reached by a long, dusty drive down a very narrow road. The views of the ocean are amazing and the beach was totally deserted.

First of all to get to Fern Canyon would recommend a SUV/Truck as there were many potholes on the road and also a small stream about 1 ft depth of water you have to drive through. Your shoes/socks will get soaked if you plan on...More

You might be tempted to just drive by Gold Bluffs on your way to Fern Canyon. But, my advice is to stop and enjoy the beach. There are so many cool rocks to discover while walking on the soft sand at the oceans edge. Turn...More
