Impressive indeed!

During this time of year in Oroville, the rainfall has been so slight that the monster lake is at an all time low.

Very large body of water that always seems to be half full or less and some locals call it the "Toilet Bowl" cause it always that way.... Very expensive to launch a boat and day use parking cost way more then it should with day use areas not close to waters edge....

Lake Oroville is lovely this year after all of our rainfall. The fish ladders are back in action as is the fish hatchery. There is much to see. Picnic grounds are well maintained. Recreational activities abound.

Water level is down do to the drought or it would be a 5 rating. Park is awesome, lots of picnic room and a lot of historical things of interest.

Four of us rented a boat and toured and fished the lake today. It was absolutely amazing! The day and lake were so beautiful and the staff all efficient and courteous. The fishing wasn't great but we caught and released several largemouth bass, so that was fun!

It is so beautiful to see Lake Oroville full again and looking blue and inviting like it should be. Water skiing , sailing , fishing or just picnicking are all great experiences for the lake, there is overnight camping at Loafer Creek State recreation area as well as a nice beach and picnic area for BBQing .There are restaurants that... This lake is my favorite spot in the summer. Swimming, boating, fishing, camping & hiking. The dam is cool to walk the dogs on for fitness or fun.

Get here early. Wear hiking boots not sneakers. Bring your camera. Dress in layers. Bring your lunch, GPS and camera. You can easily get lost if you don't have a guide like GPS because trails are not marked. Perfect place for family outing. Parking is free but limited. Enjoy the wildflowers spread vast in the horizon and the water falls.... More
