Capt. Dan is a Coast Guard licensed master and American Sailing Association instrutor. Sail with him for a few hours or up to several days, exploring the Channel Islands ... or take private lessons. We have two yachts, one economy and one luxury boat built in France and we are the only company offering sailing eco-tours of California's Channel Islands. Our islands are often described as the Galapagos of North American and abound in sea life from whales, to dolphins to fish that ride here on either a southern current or the northern one. Ashore, you will find a landscape mostly clear of humans and protected by the National Park Service and the Nature Conservancy. Human civilization dates back some 10,000 years here, but only a handful of caretakers live here now. Come with us and step back in history 200 years, step away from civilization.

Spent an incredible afternoon learning and sailing with Capt Dan on the Wylie. Capt Dan took me out for a three hour training cruise. He patiently worked me through steering the various points of sail until I had a high level of comfort with keeping...More

The first day of sailing is like a lot of other firsts .... a time you won't forget, a time you'll relive many times. A time that will bring a smile whenever you recall it. I apologize for the barking. On the other hand, it's...More

That was a great day. The very good news is that the weather just gets better from now until Thanksgiving. I'm happy that you were happy with my "cheffing". Next time, we'll take Sancerre and bring the real chef. I really don't compare. Thanks very...More

What a great way to take sailing lessons. Captain Dan was so easy to learn from while being informative and fun. It felt more like a few fun days of sailing with friends than being in a class. I couldn't be happier with my experience.More

As an old, old admiral once said to me, "If it's not fun, you're not doing it right." He was talking about landing a Corsair on a carrier at night. I think it makes more sense in the sailing-with-friends venue. Come back soon and let's...More

Nice easy drive up from LA to Vintage Marina at Oxnard. Met Dan in his fabulous dorky hat as planned on the dock, gear stowed, safety briefing and tour of Wiley and 10 minutes later we've slipped our lines and are heading out of the...More

That was a great sail. Sixty percent of my sailing fun is in the conversation and camaraderie. Oh yeah, whales are great, but the fun - for me - is in showing folks my back yard -- the Channel Islands and sharing my crew's awe...More

It is always a treat for me to share my patch of the ocean with people who treasure the natural environment. We ventured forth, we felt the sea and were moved by the wind and we left nothing but bubbles. That's about perfect. Thanks for...More

It was great sailing with you guys. Looking forward to cruising a bigger piece of our Channel Islands when the weather warms up. Fair winds (or the equivalent for land-based activities).
