The trail to Monterey is much nicer than this one point, but early in the morning it's a fun place to climb on the rocks. There's just a lot of nicer places around.

This place can be lovely or it can be dangerous. Some of the farthest edges of the rock formations, where everyone seems to want to congregate is cool and awesome but if you miss a rock, lose your balance or reach a stone that isn’t...More

A nice viewpoint to rest. Has a pool for the kiddies and a small beach, as well as lots of benches and refreshment stands.

Small sandy beach with rocky edges. Seems safe for paddling or swimming. Quite a few people launch kayaks from here and they can be rented too.

Beautiful view of Monterey and Pacific Grove. Great parking on the streets and even a parking lot. It gets busy in the afternoon. If you pick the right bench, it can be romantic.

Beautiful view for sunsets. We were able to go out on the rocks and watch the sunset. My family enjoyed it during the day and returned for sunset.

Lover's Point is known for a carpet of stunning, bright pink ice plant. I did a little research and learned that it blooms between early April through the end of May.

I was just there this week end. I really don't know about taking a BBQ onto the beach but the nice park just steps up from the beach has built in BBQ's. The park has great ocean views and is just steps from the beach.

Not sure whether this is regarding Lover's Point but if it is, it's a public area so accessible to the Public, 24/7.
