Coupled with a trip to Joshua Tree one can see both the northern and southern view of the Coachella Valley floor. It is also a good introduction to the variety of micro climate systems of California from desert to snowy mountain top. The trails up at the tram is good for families and for anyone in normal physical condition.

I thought it was overpriced and not that great. Views were meh. Hiking also meh. My kids were bored.

Very nice views and scenic area, but expect very long delays! 2 hour (off-peak period!) wait just to get in a cable tram, as only two are running, for a 10min ride up. Then 1.5 hour wait to get back on to go down. Desperate investment in more cable trams is needed to quicken the transport of crowds up and... More

Although my husband has a fear of heights, he went on the tram ride with me and loved it. Although a little pricey, ( go after 4, it is cheaper), the view is well worth it! We loved the narration and it was quite exciting. At the top, we had a drink at the bar and enjoyed the scenery. Dress... More

At 1st, the price seems to be too much but then you realize that you can stay in the park as long as you want. You can even spend several days and nights camping if you want. On the day we visited, the temperature was 30 degrees and there was an inch of new snow on top of what appeared... More

A bit of a taxi ride to get to the base but a beautiful view riding up on the rotating gondola to the top. Had dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed the experience although the food was good but not anything special. You go for the experience and the view so in that context it was certainly worth the trip.... More

Get there early 1. So you don't get caught with a wait for your ride time up 2. So you have plenty of time to explore (there is more to do than you think) 3. So you catch the top in daylight (trails are not lit). Now, when to ride down? Night is cool to see PS lit up below.... More

We lucked out today, it was the day after the snow fall and WOW, it did not disappoint. The ride up the tramway was breathtaking, and I could not believe how beautiful it all looked. We didn't have much of a view toward the city because of fog/cloud coverage, but the best view was definitely of the snow covered mountain... More

We were lucky. We got there early and only had to wait for 5 minutes for the next tram. So beautiful. Ate at the restaurant. Excellent food and drinks. The view was to die for.
