I think the previous answers will be very helpful for you. Check the website. I recommend if you're not hiking to go later in the afternoon to see the view going up, then come down at dusk to see the lights of the city.

You will still have a good view of the mountain you are ascending. You may not be able to see far into the valley. It is an experience in anyway.
