Take the cable car to the top of the mountain. Over eight thousand feet up, for some of the most stunning views of Palm Springs and the surrounding areas. The restaurants at the top of the mountain were excellent and not over priced.

Definitely worth a visit if you want to get out of the heat of Palm Springs. We found a nice short hike to take the kids and they even enjoyed it.

We drove Palm to Pines Highway for wonderful views of San Jacinto Mountain. We have also taken the tram. Its so nice to go from desert to beautiful mountain area. The temperature change is so refreshing too.

Get off the aerial tramway and you are almost immediately on several lovely hikes to various viewpoints over the valley. Spend as much or as little time as you wish. It's gorgeous and much cooler up there.

113 in the valley today. Got off the tram about noon and it was 66. Standing in the shade it felt like air conditioning.

The park is beautiful. There are a lot of panoramic views. We visited on a weekend but it still was not very crowded. This place is a must see site whenever you go to Palm Springs.

We saw some beautiful rock formations. Riding in the desert mountains, viewing the rugged beauty of the rock formations becomes almost biblical.

Took the Palm Springs aerial tramway, made my way to the Ranger Station, and started the hike up Mt. San Jacinto. There are plenty of trails for every skill level and it's a great way to get out of the city and enjoy nature. It's...More

Depends on the season--often there are nights when the tram runs later because there are dinners scheduled at the restaurant at the top. However, you do NOT want to be caught on the trail in the dark and it gets dark early... More

No reservation is necessary, but the line for the tram will get longer later in the day--I recommend going early/mid-morning (when the tram starts running). You pay a small entrance fee, park your car, and tram to the top... More
