If you are planning a drive trip to Palm Springs stop on the way into town off the Hyw 111 at the Visitor Center. It is excellent example of mid century architecture. Information about the area is available and after your visit drive up the hill to the tram.

They have everything you need to know about the Valley, and very helpful people manning the counters. A great place to start your visit, or even mid-visit.

If you want to know about Palm Springs- OK. They don't supply any information about places next to Palm Springs. Ie Cathedral Canyon, Palm Desert etc

The Palm Springs Visitor Center has everything you need to plan your vacation. As an added bonus... the people in there are overly friendly and helpful.

I just love this building; the Palm Springs Visitor Center is situated in a former modernist styled petrol station. People are friendly but on my last visit they were not very helpful.

Funny talking man delivering info about his not-so-small inventory. Free toilets and parking lot. Classic I guess. Few meters away you can find great PALM SPRINGS sign which I recommend for your own photo postcard. ;)

Good stop for info about Palm Springs the city, not much on what's going on in the entire valley. The do offer some discounts to a couple of the attractions

I feel that one is well served to visit the Visitor Center on the first day after having breakfast at Rick's Cafe just about a block/half away! You will find brochures and Info for all attractions in the area....on this visit, got discount tickets to the Living Desert, a wildlife experience where you can ride a camel and feed giraffes!... Welcome to Palm Springs! Do you know your MCM history? Can you believe this used to be a gas station! The new cement block walls detract a bit from the ambience, but there's no better introduction to desert modern. The tramway is just up the road too.
