We visited this museum the week before Thanksgiving. The museum is free even thought the caliber is right up there with one's that charge a fee. My 11 year old, art loving daughter could have spent the whole day there!

History of the Stanford family plus rotation of visiting magnificent exhibitions like Dutch etchings featuring Rembrandt and prestigious Dutch artists. Allow time to wander the galleries and hallways. It's free. Parking free on weekends.

Lots to see - including Anderson Collection. Each museum has its own unique story which the visitor should learn.

If for nothing else the cantor arts center is worth visiting for the Rodin sculptures (and a few pieces by Camille Claudel).

The Rodin sculpture garden as well as the collection of Rodin sculptures indoors makes the visit worthwile. You get furthermore a good understanding of the Stanford family history. The rest of the art collection is good but not extraordinary.

A delightful arts museum that is just the right for an enjoyable quick walk through type of visit. Some members of our family party took the 1 hour guided tour while the others elected to do their own individual tours. All were satisfied with their choices. Spread out in several spacious rooms on each of the 2 floors (there are... More

Rodin is certainly a fixation at this centre. Showed a lot of his work and the Gates of Hell. Very moving section on the origins of Stanford University and the loss of the Stanford's son.

We enjoyed a docent tour of the Cantor Arts Center. I especially enjoyed the current exhibit on the California waterways. Nice way to spend a few hours.

Adjacent to the Cantor museum is the new Anderson collection at Stanford. Its holdings and visit times can be reviewed on its website. This is an impressive addition of modern art to the already impressive Cantor museum (which also includes a number of Rodin sculptured nearby and elsewhere on campus within walking distance of the museums. Open late on Thursdays... More
