Whether you walk around inside or just view the sculptures outside, you should stop by if you are on campus. Simple galleries, but a lot of great art.

The Cantor does a good job of interpreting the history of the museum and Stanford University. Their special exhibiitons are always fun to view. The permanent collection is a admirable range of periods for a teaching museum. The small cafe is clearly a favorite for campus staff/faculty/students - nice seating inside and outside.

Cantor is both and indoor and outdoor museum with Rodin Sculpures presiding over the gardens and sections of the museum. My favorite exhibit is the one of the Stanford Family and the large photo board of the jewels that Mrs Stanford sold during the depresion to keep the University open. Finish off a visit with refreshments or even lunch in... More

The quality and interest of exhibits here varies. The permanent collection is mostly not of great interest, with a few exceptions, but some of the temporary exhibits are more interesting. The highlight is the outdoor Rodin Garden with a great collection of that artist's work

One of the best museums in all of the Bay Area can be found nestled away on the campus of Stanford University. Because of it's location it is rarely crowded and the admission is nominal (your choice of what you'd be willing to donate. Here you will find one of the largest collections of Rodin's fine statuary outside of France.... More

A tucked away gem that is well worth a visit for anyone traveling to or living in the San Francisco Bay Area, especially in Silicon Valley. The collection is quite impressive, including an extensive collection of Rodin sculptures. I went with my whole family including four children and we all enjoyed it thoroughly.

I would recommend the (free) guided tour for an inside view of the Rodin collection here, one of the largest assemblies of Rodin's bronzes in the world. They include such iconic sculptures as 'The Thinker' and the ornate door 'The Gates of Hell', while the famous Burghers of Calais are displayed in the nearby Memorial Court on the Stanford University...
