I didn't care for their wines particularly but they have a lovely location on a little knoll off of Adelaida Road in Paso Robles off Highway 46. It was a red tasting day I guess - no whites and that alone put me off (most of us like variety) I found them all to be a bit sour but again?... More

Stopped here on the West side after a recommendation from another traveler. Glad we did! This is the same wine maker of Tablas Creek wines only they are completely different varietals and unique approach to fruition. The room is quaint and simple with the emphasis on educating the consumer and pouring top-notch wines. We had a great visit here and... More

I absolutely love Lone Madrone. The hospitality and service is always fantastic (shout out to the ever friendly and informative Ryan!) and the wines are some of the best in the area. They source fruit from a variety of dry farmed vineyards throughout Paso so the winemaker and his team are able to find the best quality grapes from local... More

After visiting Tablas Creek and LOVING their wines, we asked there for a recommendation on another area winery to visit. The winemaker for Tablas owns Lone Madrone, but everything about them was different- the vineyard, tasting room, and the wine. We didn't like anything we tasted here, staff was ok. I would skip this one if we had a chance... More

This is wine made with native yeast -- the way wine has been made for thousands of years -- instead of killing off all of the native yeast and introducing a commercial strain. The wine shows the knowledge, skill, and care of the wine maker. Several unusual varietals and nice blends are available. Our server was a seasoned professional, and... More

This was a busy wine tasting room and we experienced the reason why. It's hard to find a barbera on the tasting list let alone the wine itself. Our group of 5 bought 7 bottles of good wine with a Veterans discount. Thank you Lone Madrone.

Up in hills of Paso Robles we explored a number of wineries. There's a relaxed vibe at Lone Madrona, but the wine maker clearly knows his stuff. His blends are interesting and we'll worth stopping in for a taste. We bought some Old Hat and a few other bottles.

Several local proprietors recommended Lone Madrone. That's always a good sign. It's not big or fancy, but that's part of the charm. The tasting room is in a barn like building with a casual vibe. Friendly server. We passed on the tasting and opted to enjoy a glass of "Will" outside. I had been told to try it because it's... More

This was the last stop of wine-tasting trip in the hills west of Paso Robles. And the tasting was probably the best of all the vineyards and wineries that we visited. Really friendly, engaging and educational journey through a series of 9 or 10 different bottles. We learned loads and are very much looking forward to sharing a bottle of... More

I'm a wine drinker and always looking for a new style, a new blend and most of all, something to bring home. Here has all of that and the staff is very friendly. We came on a Saturday, and relaxed outside where they left my husband and I alone to just talk and connect, it was really cool to just... More
