A great park located in Petaluma. Lots of open space. There are some great wide paved trails and some narrower trails off of the pavement. Great place to take dogs on leashes or just explore by yourself or with friends.

This is a fine place to have easy or more vigorous hikes - once you get to the tops of the hills you have a great view of the Petaluma Valley. Every season has it's treasures here. I love this place. It is not wheel chair accessible unfortunately. Some trails are very tame. Beautiful, unspoiled county, a lake, and creeks... More

I've been hiking here for 9 years and will for as long as I can. There are varying degrees of difficulty in the trails from level to 60 degree incline ( I call it the wall). It is a short 2-3 hundred feet up to the top of the world and flat up top so you can chose many trails... More

Just a few days ago, a few friends went hiking here on a lovely sunny day after much rain. The green hills were spectacular with livestock in the distance. Mossy trees with disfigured trunks were great photo opportunities. There are many trails to explore and we intend to see them all.

Beautiful park, but the automated parking permit system is cumbersome. The machine kept spitting out our dollar bills. Nice park close to Petaluma but out in the country.

Stretched the legs a bit during a reunion weekend. Rolling hills on single track trails.A few different loops.

Favorite family hike for sure. So much so that our son has had his birthday party here twice. Dog loves it, too. Beautiful views and nice open space. Depending on how you access the trails, may have to pay a parking fee - cash only - and they ticket if you don't pay!

The views are excellent and in the spring, the green hills make for very nice scenery. The other good thing is that the park is close to town. The negatives are that most of the trails are not shaded so the summer hiking is not very pleasant. I guess I am spoiled by the trails near Point Reyes and the... More

I just got back from a hike in our gem of a park. A mile or so from downtown Petaluma, Helen Putnam regional, lies just to the West. The main entrance is off Chileno Valley Rd. From downtown take Western to Chileno Valley. Parking is $7. There is room for horse trailers, leashed dogs are welcome. There are numerous trails,... More

Quite a variety of hiking trails throughout this park and a great local option for a walk, job, horseback ride or bike ride. Trail can be a bit steep in some areas, so would probably encourage baby strollers to stay on the paved road. Be sure to have a leash close for your dog as it is not unheard of... More
