Hand Selected Vineyards,

Award Winning Wines

Jeff travels throughout California to find just the right grapes for his vineyard designated wines. The winery produces 22 different red varietals from 9 appellations.

We produce balanced wines that can be enjoyed in their youth, but will also age and become more complex with time. Our wines share a theme of fresh fruit reflective of the varietal flavors inherent in the grape.

This was our third wine tasting of the day last Monday. We were having a great time..until we got here. The blonde woman pouring wine didn't even smile when we came in. No greeting whatsoever, and there were only a few other people in the room. It was as if she was upset that we had come in. And no,... More

As wine tasting rooms go Jeff Runquist is a nice one to visit. The staff is warm and welcoming. You won't feel or be treated as one of the herds as can be the experience in some of the more famous wine AVAs. The tasting room itself is large but feels somewhat impersonal. However, the wine attendants do make up... More

Stopped on a gloomy Sunday around noon. It's a busy, loud, tasting room with a very friendly staff. Liked a lot of their wines, and took one home to enjoy later that week.

Seven of us decided on a Girlfriend Trip to Plymouth, California in the Fall of 2016! We were lucky enough to be able to stay in the "Wine Club Members Only" Vineyard House! The house is beautiful and sits on a hill overlooking the valley and the Runquist vineyard and winery. We were warmly welcomed at the winery and enjoyed... More

The first time I visited the winery I became a wine club member. He makes a lot of good wine that is drinkable now or in a few years. He does not grow any grapes himself so he is able to buy good grapes to make a variety of great wines! The zinfandels are really good. The last wine club... More

The first time I met Jeff was at Pokerville market in Plymouth. He was in line ahead of me and noticed I was buying some of his wine. So he slipped the bottle on his side of the belt and bought it for me. Through it all, that's the kind of guy he is.... he's made wine for a lot... More

Jeff Runquist is the best winemaker in the area. He does not grow his own so he can use the grapes he wants. Their Cab Fanc is very good.

It's the Wandering Yank here. Mrs. Yank and I recently visited the wine country for the Crush weekend and visited 11 wineries in 2 days. Time to give my liver a rest.... This was one of the better ones. A pleasant and spacious tasting room, friendly staff and pretty good wine. We bought one, Aglianico I believe, which we have... More

Every person I spoke to about Plymouth wineries recommended Runquist. I normally avoid wineries located right on the highway because many of them rely upon easy tourist traffic rather than quality wine, but Runquist is not one of those places. The wine maker sources his grapes from several appelations rather than splitting his time between farming and wine making. We... More
