Check in advance, unlike other national parks this one seems two have a2 day work week for lighthouse. It is a very long drive up to the lighthouse and an even longer walk straight up to see the outside if they are closed. However, breath taking views of the ocean and cliffs. Absolutely beautiful. If you are early, drive around,... More

We spent an afternoon and a morning at Point Reyes with an overnight in Inverness. To enjoy this park you need to have at least a full day on the ground and 2 or 3 might be better but even an afternoon can be rewarding if the weather is right. We managed to get to Point Reyes lighthouse, Drake's Beach,... More

We visited in February so it was not crowded and we found it to be a beautiful and peaceful place to take in the magnificent views and reflect. Also a great place to see wildlife - we saw Elk on our visit.

You can see the highlights of this wonderful place in a day...Bear Valley Visitor Center, Drakes Bay, Point Reyes Lighthouse and Sea Lion Overlook. But stay longer and explore the beaches, picnic and hike the many trails. We were fortunate to have beautiful sunny weather with no fog or wind. The Bear Valley Visitor Center is a good place to... The views are spectacular, the weather can be a challenge but that can be fun too. I remember being here as a kid when the wind was so strong we held our coats open, like wings, and fell back into the wind and we were held up. Recently went out there, and it is just a special place. The lighthouse... More
