Limatour beach is a bit off the beaten track at Point Reyes National Seashore, which itself is also off the beaten track, so even on a weekend and one of the hottest days of the summer we feel like we had the beach almost to...More

Great views of the estuary as well. Bring layers for both wind and fog and a picnic lunch. Not a strenuous walk to get there.

Driving the long twisting tree lined road builds up the expectations of arrival. Not to mention the wildflowers. The dunes are a place of beauty and we had the beach all to ourselves that day.

This is a great beach for kids/families. You can even bring your dog on one long stretch of the beach. There are many trailheads here but my kids just wanted to hang on the beach and play. They played and dug in the sand and...More

This is one of the best beaches at Pt Reyes for walking. You can walk all the way from the parking lot to the entrance to the estuary. It's quite a walk. The beach is lovely and clean. It's in the bay so the wave...More

It was a fine beach to walk. We also hiked on a parallel trail along the spit. It was a lovely experience. There were shells and a number of interesting birds.

Went on a breezy day in March, but the beach is huge, scenic, and full of birdlife darting in and out of the water. Well worth the trip.

As beaches go, I found Limantour to be fairly boring. Just a long, flat stretch of beach. I prefer rock outcroppings, tall stacks and tidal pools. Just a personal preference.

It was lovely to stroll along the beach. I saw four sea lions in the water quite close to shore. It was peaceful and pretty--but it got even better at sunset. DP saw a green flash, but I was too bust taking photos!

I can't say for sure, but I don't recall there being an entrance or parking fee.
