Overview
More
Heidrun Meadery produces brut dry, naturally sparkling, single-varietal mead(wine made from fermented honey) using the traditional French Methode Champenoise. Along with world-class meadmaking, we have a beekeeping operation and a bee forage cultivation program. Our tasting room is open 7 days a week. We offer Tours & Tastings by reservation ($15), Tasting Flights ($10), or mead by-the-bottle or by-the-glass on the patio. We recommend calling ahead to make a reservation and be sure we are not closing early for an event, same day reservations are accepted.

Champagne of Mead. My friend and I stumbled upon this establishment on our way to Cowgirl Creamery. The location is very peaceful and calming. The fact that you can taste the nead in a greenhouse is a nice touch. The nead itself is artisinal, so...More

We went to the Heidrun Meadery on a recent trip to Point Reyes. I don't generally like Mead because it can be too sweet, but this sparkling Mead was spectacular. The tasting was super fun and the woman who helped us was really kind and...More

Great experience - Highly recommend! Have never had sparkling mead before - and why should I? Not a lot of it being made. Delicous and unusual!

We had never tried mead before visiting here but came with family who visit Point Reyes frequently. It was interesting to hear about their process and tour the facility. We bought several varieties and I've since gone back just to buy honey. It's surprising how...More

Great spot in West Marin to taste sparking mead (I think they are the only producer in the country using the traditional method of making sparkling wine but using honey). The meads are really interesting and delicious. Depending on where the honey is sourced really...More

Their meads are drier and refreshing, not the sugary sweet type. All meads are made with water, honey and yeast. It's amazing how the different honey make markedly different meads. In addition to tasting meads, they also sell bee-friendly and native plants.

We enjoyed stopping at the Meadery and sampling the variety of meads. To our surprise (and delight), we really could taste the difference between honey from various flowers. We loved strolling on the Meadery grounds. The flowers were magnificent and the views were beautiful. The...More

Fun little side trip for some "sparkling mead" tasting. Friendly proprietor. Pretty garden and grounds.

I highly recommend this place to mead lovers. If you're not sure but are a sparkling wine/champagne lover or fan of any brewing arts, you're probably going to like this place as well. What makes Heidrun so special beyond their meads are stunningly delishicious is...More

This is a really cute property and an easy stop if you're headed into or out of Point Reyes Station. The mead is a unique formulation. If you are a traditional mead drinker, open your mind a little bit as "a little bit" is the...More
