Sacramento Children's Museum's opened our doors in 2011 with a mission is to spark a passion for life-long learning. We are accomplishing our mission by providing a place where children are encouraged to think for themselves, expand their problem-solving abilities through creative exploration, and exercise both their bodies and their minds. The Museum's hands-on environments provide children with a gateway for opening up their minds to developing new abilities, building confidence, and making connections between their dreams and real world experiences.

This place had a lot of activities for my 2 and 3 year old. My 5 year old was a bit bored after a bit. I would recommend for youngsters!

I took my grandchildren ages 6 and 7. They had a great time exploring and playing with each other and the other children. They enjoyed everything in the museum and while you might believe the activities are geared toward younger children, the older children really seemed to enjoy themselves as well. I loved watching them engage and use their imagination.... More

As many have said already, this venue is quite small. It is segmented into distinct areas including a painting area, water play area(not swimming), wall mounted air tubes, dress-up, to name a few. There is a separate space for 'crawlers'. My grandson was most entertained by the paint room and water play area, especially the later. At 3 years old,... More

The Children's museum seems to be best for children under 8. We have taken our grandchildren there and they always seem to have a good time. There are some rotating exhibits. The annual membership is an especially good deal.

My son wants to have every birthday party for the rest of his life at the Sacramento Children's Museum. He does not realize he will eventually age out. I am always thrilled to see them light up with just the conversation about the children's museum. Thanks to the magnificent staff for making my kids world.
