We initially stopped here to roll the four pennies in the machine outside the gift shop, but checked out the tree and browsed through gift shop. The resiliency of the redwoods is amazing--I can't count how many trees we've seen with significant fire wounds at...More

Redcrest used to be hot tourist spot. There was a thriving Redwood Mill a very short distance down the road - it closed and the economy took a hit. The cute little grocery store had everything and a gas station was attached. The Eternal Tree...More

The tree itself is pretty normal, but has an interesting story - fires, flood, lighting and still living. The gift shop was more interesting. The standard fair for the Redwoods, but they also sold smaller pieces of rough redwood lumber.

We stayed in the RV park here, but it is worth stopping for if you are just passing through. The history of this tree is interesting.

A quick stop to add to your history of the area. There is plenty of parking. There is also a gift shop next to the feature.

It's a quick and interesting stop to see the history of this tree. The flood is marked as is the ax marks where loggers tried to fell the tree

It's just anther of many trees touted as living forever, surviving flood, lightning and axe. But it is free and literally right next to the road, so why not stop for a second
