Beautiful view of the river, great walking trail or for biking, blading, pushing a baby stroller or walking the dog. Peaceful to walk in a gentle rain. A relaxing way to start the day!

Walk, ride, or being pushed in a stroller are ways to enjoy our Beautiful Redding. The Sacramento river trail is beautiful and different places are just serene. If you are going to run alone-take a dog....I love Redding and the Sacramento trail.

We were so glad we stopped here to bike. The trail was perfect with sun and shade along the way. It can be used by young and old.

An elderly woman was beaten & attacked on the Sacramento River Trail in the morning on June 11, 2016. On June 8, 2016, another hiker was held up at gunpoint in the daytime on another local trail. Redding is not safe anymore. Do not use the trails alone. If you decide to come, bring weapons. Sad but true. Leave nothing... More

Redding is hot in June but I guarantee that the portions of this trail close to the Sacramento River are lovely and cool. Excellent for running. Lots of peripheral single track for mountain biking. Lots of wild life. Watch out for rattle snakes in the summer.

I so love riding, sometimes walking, this section of the river trail. Most of it parallels the river and it is so beautiful and peaceful. We are so lucky to have this here in Redding and so easily accessible!

We love biking this trail. It goes for about 16-17 miles from Turtle Bay, ending up atop Shasta Dam if you're up for the climb. The first stretch of the trail is easy and shady, paved and gently rolling. I've taken my mom on a bike ride here (she's in her late 60's and not much of a bike rider)... More

Great trail but again the homeless love to camp out there. Just be careful when visiting. Lock up car, and don't leave anything in plain view in your car when visiting.

we ride from the Sundial Bridge to Shasta Dam campground. no cars, no automobile noises, just beautiful scenery and a bit challenging ride. there is one segment with several fairly steep hills (including heart rate hill !!). all worth it. pack a lunch and enjoy the day - 16 miles one way or ride from either end for the desired...
