Went to an event at the BARRA tasting room recently. Beautiful building, tho acoustics aren't very good. Wines are ok, too.

Great open, friendly, and pets welcome tasting room. The staff are informative, relaxed and love the Barra/Girasole wines. The tasting room/event center can hold 250 guests. Beautiful gardens, landscaping and view of the vineyard.

My husband and I are always looking for new wine tasting experiences. On our way back from Mendocino we saw this winery in Calpella, CA on a map and decided to find it. It takes a little doing to get there off of 101. But what a nice surprise. Free tastings of two different styles of wineries. The one winery,... More

Stopped in for a tasting while driving thru the area. What a beautiful building, nice area outback to enjoy the endless sunshine enjoying glass of wine while looking out over the vineyards.

We stopped at Barra of Mendocino Winery on a guided tour with The Limousine Connection and Robert Folk. What a wonderful experience. Upon entering the "tasting room" we were struck with the beauty of the place, the setting (both inside and outside) was perfect and the person behind the winery bar really knew her wines. This winery bottles two labels.... More

We stopped at this winery and tasting room since it was just off the highway. A tasting was just about to begin so I joined in. There were just a few of us and the lady was attentive in customizing the tasting for each person. I sampled a total of eight varieties of wine, all without a tasting fee. The... More

This is a winery run by 5 or 6 generations in the Barra family. I've visited this location many times over the last 8 years. The organic wines are both delicious and made with very low sulfites (the reds) so after a sumptuous wine club member dinner with wines, port and an excellent regional wild mushroom dinner not a single...
