The Inglenook legacy began in 1879 when Gustave Niebaum, a Finnish sea captain, wine connoisseur and entrepreneur, came to Rutherford to build a wine estate that would rival Europe's finest. When Niebaum's grandnephew, John Daniel, Jr. inherited the chateau and vineyards in the 1930s, Inglenook had already earned international acclaim. Francis and Eleanor Coppola purchased the property in 1975 and have spent forty years reuniting the original vineyards, returning winemaking operations to the chateau, and restoring Inglenook's illustrious heritage with the help of renowned wine consultant Stephane Derenoncourt and Managing Director and Winemaker Philippe Bascaules. In honor of this estate and its historical significance, we have restored the name, Inglenook.

After visiting a few boutique smaller vineyards which were individually unique, coming to inglenook and being told it's very brash and mass market is simply not true. The setting, scenery and the amount of space is incredible. Beautiful luscious gardens and fountain sets an old...More

My wife and I came to Inglenook not knowing what to expect. It was our first time in Napa, and we did as much research as we could between our wedding and flying out to California. We both agree that the grounds were amazingly well...More

This place is insanely pretentious basing everything on their history instead of caring about what truly matters which is the wine. They pontificate about their 1941 vintage without wondering what u think about their current wine. Would not recommend and really a name doesn’t say...More

Exceptional wine. An amazing chateau building. Make sure you put this on your list, and have a reservation: no walk ins allowed.
