Once a month we explore Sacramento for new cultural and educational experience. This outing to Crocker Art Museum was one of the highlight of our monthly outings. Beautiful paintings were on display plus new ones that was on the road show. My friends and I also had a great lunch at the museum.

As an Architect who makes a point of visiting the great art institutions of any City I find myself in, I suspect if I just walked through the Crocker cold I'd be a bit 'underwhelmed'. As a native though, I have the advantage of knowing that this institution began as a private home of the Crocker from the Big Three... More

This museum is better than many I've been to in bigger cities. It's very large, organized by style, and I learn something every time. The cafe and gift shop are great. But it's one of the best art museums in California.

While time didn't allow me to spend a great amount of time there, a couple of hours visiting the museum was a refreshing one. At first the museum seemed a bit small, but once inside I learned that there are many rooms to explore. Because of time, I was not able to see everything within the museum. What I did... More

I guess it's been a few years since I stopped-by to see an exhibit and I was long overdue, so on a Sunday afternoon, I took my friends for a visit. We were an eclectic group--a retired businessman, my priest and his wife, both from the Balkans, my deacon's wife, a photographer. We went to see a photo exhibit. Though... More

Much larger museum than expected. Nice displays. I especially would like to commend them for having a wheelchair available to use (first come first serve). My mom loves museums but her knee was acting up. She would have not been able to see the museum at all if they did not have a wheelchair available. Security "Davey" was very kind... More

Ok, I admit it ... I love art museums. So you rarely will see a poor review from me unless it is truly awful (and there are a few). That said when I had 4 spare hours in Sacramento, the Crocker was on top of my wish list and it frankly far exceeded my expectations. Moderately priced at $10, it... More

Last time I visited I was not impressed with the service in the cafe. Today was much better. But first, there was plenty of artwork on display, covering a wide geographical range. Each gallery was a feast of art. There is certainly plenty to see. My advice is to take it slowly, pace yourself, and don't try to read every... More
