This California Indian Museum is small...but very educational and interesting. There are many books about The California Missions to look at and buy. The story of "The Last Wild Indian of California, Ishii" is there in book and photographic form, for example. This is worth...More

I brought my 4th grade class here last week for the first time and while it is a small museum and the majority of the artifacts are in glass cases it is still a worthwhile destination. The displays are informative and amazing and do a...More

As a visitor from the UK I have to admit I knew very little about real Native American culture, my view being shaped by old cowboy TV programmes and films. As an amateur historian I was interested and then intrigued by the artifacts and the...More

A somewhat melancholic little museum in a quaint park in midtown Sacramento, a place that is calm and soothing and makes you angry at the same time. Angry about the fate of native Americans and angry about the missionaries who imposed their beliefs with sheer...More

Small but powerful. Well thought out displays of California Native American lifestyles, tools and regalia. No photos allowed. Located adjacent to Sutter's Fort. On street (metered) parking. Handicap accessible. Small gift shop. Restrooms in a separate building. Well worth the visit.

We found this museum to be very interesting especially in terms of the Native Tribes that used to inhabit all of California. There is a wealth of information contained in here, and it's presented beautifully. We would certainly come back here to visit.

IIs a cute little museum and gives a good insight in how the California's Indian went true there lives. From useful to pretty things, it's all there telling the story. It's set in a pretty park that's worth some time also.

We came here for a 4th grade class trip. It's a small museum. Not much for kids to actually touch; everything in glass cases. I think its more suited for adults or older children.

I have an interest in history but could have skipped this tiny museum. Nothing here of interest at all and it is very, very small.
