We come out to the park in the winter. There are a lot of year round birds that reside there. The wood ducks are a big hit. Up around the golf course we have had Merlin, yellow shafted flickers and varied thrush. It’s worth a...More

This sprawling park packs in amenities and tranquility for all who seek some outdoors fun among the greenery. The size and number of attractions/sections are in line with those you'd expect from a much larger-sized city than Sacramento.

This is the park we went to first. Then after we parked we found the Funderland nearby, with Sacramento Zoo across the street. Good thing we brought food and drinks for long day there. Go early for best free parking, near both places.

The City of Sacramento website is your Go To for reservations under the Parks & Recreation bit. Have a fun summer Diana! It's a wonderful park. Don't forget to take crumbs for the ducks. :-)
