California has a beautiful State Capitol building. It is a combination of the old Capitol and an updated building that was joined together and it works. Definitely take a tour and stop by to visit your Assemblyman and Senator. Tours are free.

Beautifully restored state capital building, great brochure for self-guided tour, safe visit ensured through required scanned entry. Lovely tiled floor, historic paintings, beautiful dome. Go to 3rd floor and work your way down. Go in both galleries, no floor entry.
